NOVEMBER 28, 2007
REVIEW OF OLD BUSINESS
NOVEMBER FUN NIGHT
The PTO is pleased to report that the Thanksgiving themed fun night in support of the troops was a great success. Eight boxes of misc. items were shipped to Iraq. Thanks to all those who attended and/or donated to this cause.
SCHOOL IMPROVEMENTS / NEEDS
Basketball hoops for the outside playground will be ordered soon thanks to the anticipated donation from Verizon on behalf of the Johanning family.
BOOK FAIR
Many thanks to Kim Carlisle and Joanne Reuther for the great job they did coordinating the book fair as well as all the many volunteers who stepped up to help run it. The fair was a huge success and our school library and classrooms will benefit greatly thanks to all the Ranger families who made purchases at the fair.
NEW BUSINESS / IDEAS
HOLIDAY CLASSROOM ACTIVITIES
Craft kits for all classes with be provided by the PTO. Room parents will coordinate with their teachers when this activity will take place in the classroom. The PTO is also making arrangements for a special guest to visit the children in class, read a story and distribute a gift from the PTO before winter break.
DECEMBER FAMILY FUN EVENT
A "Breakfast with Santa" is being planned for Sat. December 15th from 9 am - 12 pm. There will be professional photos, art and crafts, face painting and a holiday cookie sale. Coffee, juice and donuts will also be sold at a minimal cost. Anyone interested in helping with this event should email the PTO or contact Kim Carlisle at 624-9864.
WINTER WEAR EXCHANGE
Due to the lack of a coordinator and short amount of time to organize this, the PTO decided to postpone this idea until next year.
RANGER PROVIDENCE BRUINS NIGHT
Being planned for late January.
TEACHER WISH LISTS / SPECIAL REQUESTS
Mrs. Curtis (4th grade) - $16.99 (computer software/games classroom) - APPROVED
Mrs. Moreira (Kindergarten) - $40.00 (Stamp & See screens for kid writing) - APPROVED
NOTE: After payment of these requests, there will be approximately $140.00 remaining in the Special Request budget.
PENNIES FOR PATIENTS
Runs for 3 weeks. Tentatively scheduled for March 3 – March 21, 2008 – NEED COORDINATOR
