PTO MEETING MINUTES:  APRIL 9, 2008

REVIEW OF CURRENT TREASURER REPORT
Total assembly expenditures approximately $2,300.00.

PARENT WORKSHOPS
Internet Safety workshop is scheduled for May 7th. Professional development credits will be available for teaching staff who attend the workshop. Flyer planned to go out the week of April 21st.

LANDSCAPE COMMITTEE
The rain date for the community service day planned for Saturday, April 12th from 9 am to noon will be posted on the Ranger PTO website.

FOURTH GRADE FAREWELL
Carrie Belanger is chairing the committee. Each student will receive a DVD of pictures put to music. Other details including the selection of teacher gifts and a gift to leave the school will be decided by this committee.

TEACHER WISH LISTS / SPECIAL REQUEST
Mrs. Stevenson - Paper cups for water dispenser in classroom will be provided by Tom Gastall.

SPRING SOCIAL
Sherri Feld is chairing this event. All approvals and permits have been obtained. Flyers went home last week. Tickets on sale now ($10. in advance and $15 at the door). We are still in need of donated items for basket raffle and silent auction.

CANDY SALE SPRING FUNDRAISER
Coordinator: Cheryl Simmons. Candy sent home with students this week. Money collected is due back on May 1st.

MAY FUN NIGHT
Sherry Kourtesis to chair the event. Proposed date of Friday, May 16th so as to coincide with the Book Fair. Theme to be determined.

BOOK FAIR or READ-A-THON
BOGO FREE BOOK FAIR – Tuesday, MAY 13th – Friday, 16th. Kim Carlise will be the coordinator.

TEACHER APPRECIATION
Monday, May 5th the PTO will provide breakfast in the teacher's lounge to kick off the week. Black Goose Café was proposed as a possible supplier for approximately 50 people. Jenn Gallant will organize breakfast. Friday May 9th, all Ranger staff will receive lunch from Marcucci’s – Tom Gastall will organize. Sherri Feld will pick up a dessert for the luncheon. Will will need parent volunteers to chaperone the students during lunch and recess from 11:30am to approximately 1:00pm while the teacher’s enjoy their lunch.

SCHOOL PHOTOGRAPHS
Proposals received from Captivation Photography, LifeTouch, Costa and O’Connor Studios. The PTO will send home a questionaire to find out whether parents were happy with the photographer from last year and will consider new proposals based upon the feedback received.

ELECTION OF 2008-2009 PRESIDENT
To take place at next meeting.
